the bump report

Friday marked 36 weeks of this wonderful pregnancy.  My 5th, but that’s a story for another day.  I am blessed beyond measure to be growing another gorgeous girl, whom I am growing very anxious to meet. At some point, the novelty of pregnancy wears off; it came a lot sooner having a wild girl to chase around with a belly full of her baby sister.

In many ways, I’m sure the activity has helped ease many of the troubles I encountered with Lily’s pregnancy.  There are still hard days; the days I thank God he brought essential oils into my life.  I’d be miserable without them, particularly these past few weeks.  I smell incredible!  They’re easing my aches and pains, helping me sleep, and keeping my feisty girl calm on the days I just can’t entertain her constantly.  They helped us recover miraculously quickly from Hand Foot and Mouth Disease a few weeks ago too.  It seems I caught strep (or something that feels like strep) over the weekend, so as I type this I’m sucking on a cough drop that is made with OnGuard essential oil blend. So far, I’m feeling human still.

I’m about to start packing my hospital bag and blending up some oils to aid my body through my labor.  I’ve heard wonderful things from friends who used oils in labor and I am so excited to see for myself!  At the very least, my room is going to smell lovely, but I anticipate I will have a new story to share about why I’m obsessed with oils.

Essential Oil Tip:

Here’s an oil tip for for my fellow pregnant mamas:  doTERRA’s Aromatouch blend has been a lifesaver for the leg cramps and swelling.  I’ve also experienced a little bit of restless leg, and a couple drops of this on the bottom of my feet before bed keeps it away.  If you’d like to learn more about essential oils, please visit my essential oils page!

dōTERRA’s proprietary massage blend combines the therapeutic benefits of oils well-known to relax muscles, calm tension, soothe irritated tissue, increase circulation, and smooth limbs.
